the basin – day 629 – yesterdays rainbow

yesterday afternoon, while at my desk, i noticed the sun low the horizon was below the sputtering of rain, so I grabbed my camera and headed to the basin. the rainbow was worth the wet.

So, as the sun remains low for the next 6 weeks, i will capture the photo later in the day and will start the morning shots sometime early in the new year. It can be very dreary in the wee hours without the sun.

the basin – day 626 – snow somewhere else

for a few days now the forecast predicts snow that I have only seen it high in the hills

a couple of quilts just finished

These were fun to make. Both are made using the strips to make half square triangles – lots of pieces and fun to work with. My main sewing machine was just back from the shop so I was finally able to finish the quilting of both.

The back in gold was pieced together on a 1947 Singer Featherweight machine while the Pfaff was in the shop. The Pfaff is back and once again works beautifully.
