the basin – day 514

foggy with a chance of rain

PS your world hasn’t changed, just how you view it has

Kindness

The kindness of others
is the warmth of the
midday sun
is easy to appreciate.
A hello, a smile, a nod.
Chimes break the
silence, memories
of love, cherished moments
hugs of gratitude, love
appreciation, togetherness
the kindness of others
is something to behold,
a gentle swaying
of the harmonies of
love.
Can undo untold hurts
if you let them in.
The kindness of others
is outside of self.
Being on the
outside looking in,
kindness is all that
matters.

  1. Wow. May I share this poem, Cathy? It gave me goosebumps. So beautifully worded. You are a poet, my friend. “Can undo untold hurts, if you let them in.” I know some people who need to read this…

    • please do, I have been reading some of my writing from my deepest grief and thought that adding them here they wouldn’t be lost – so there may be more in time – oddly enough, they always seem like a poem so perhaps I am a poet
