the basin – day 606 – quiet after the storm

we remain unscathed after the torrents of rain and big winds

Granted, the power was out till the wee hours of the morning. my partner and I were prepared though with the wood stove blazing, candles and fairy lights aglow, we were able to bake frozen chicken pot pies on the top of the stove in a cast iron Stabb brazier

  1. Sounds like a fun adventure! Great that you have a wood stove. Rosie and I sat bundled up in blankets. Cold sandwich for supper. Did hours of reading, but the worst part was boredom! We’re so dependent on our devices. Into bed at 8 pm, glad to be able to enjoy hot coffee this morning.

    • Yes, the woodstove was awesome. We too found it boring yet it was a brief look into how most of our world lives. And how much our modern convince has petuated more innovation 💡 it is harder to move forward in the dark!
      Yah for hot coffee ☕
